Who We Are
Homework Central is an after-school tutoring program serving 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students from the North Central area of San Mateo. We have 3 sites: Sunnybrae School, King Center and the Unitarian Universalist Church. These sites accommodate 20-25 children, Monday through Thursday, during the school year. Volunteer tutors work with students on their homework, strengthening their math, writing and reading skills.
Our Mission
The Homework Central mission is to assist children in developing their capacity to learn and achieve through homework assistance and family support.
Our Vision
We believe that education is a critical component to a successful life in today's world. Often socio-economic and language barriers challenge this educational capacity. Our community homework centers with caring volunteers can mitigate these obstacles so that children can become capable students.
